Need Advice

I need to move a light switch approx 50cm down from where it is now, customer wants to put something where it is now so it will not be accessible. Whats the best way of extending the cables??
I was thinking of using crimps and ratchet crimpper, then self amalgamating tape over the crimp, chase down the wall into new light fitting. Blank off the old fitting and fill in chase.

Anybody know of any other ways??

some will say to use heat shrink over the crimp..

others will say its not necessary, as the crimp connectors are fully insulated anyway.

im with latter personaly,but its down to you.

any other connection has to be accesible for maintanance/inspection,ie behind a blank on the back box, which sounds although is not possible. So crimps it is.
