Discuss Need help to fix a five arm ceiling light to three ceiling wires in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
Hi
I need help to fit a five-arm B & Q Albany chrome plated ceiling light in my bedroom, I have 4 blue wires, 4 brown wires and 1 yellow wire on this light and from the ceiling I have 1 yellow wire and 2 black wires. I have put the 4 blue wires together and the 4 brown wires together and put each set of wires into one hole each of the 4 hole connector and the 1 yellow wire into one other hole on the connector that came with the ceiling light. I them put the yellow wire from the ceiling into the 4 hole connector opposite the yellow wire in the light fitting and 1 black wire from ceiling into connector opposite the set of blue wires and the other black wire opposite the set of brown wires but the light is not working, I even swapped the black wires over but still nothing.
I had to put the old ceiling rose back because my hall, kitchen and living room ceiling lights would not work but now I have put the old ceiling rose back the bedroom light won't work but I have the hall, kitchen and living room ceiling lights are working. Could someone advise me, is something wrong with the wires from the ceiling or is something wrong with the wall switch in the bedroom. I would be very grateful for any help as soon as possible. Thank you.
I thought this was an electrician's forum, perhaps I'm wrong, is this also for DIY ers??????
Unfortunately the problem lies with yourself, no disrespect but every electrician loves a tryer; it looks easy but it isn't. You need a electrician to correct the problems.Hi
