Need help with a waxpot

Hi my wife has a wax pot she uses for her job and has lost the lead, I've found a spare lead but I need to know the size of the fuse that should be in there, she had a spare lead she used before and it melted
This is the only info I have on the waxpot

A 3a or 5a will be fine.

Ah ok the lead I found has a 10amp in it

Well the fuse is really to protect the lead,so assuming the lead is rated at 10a that will be OK. However in practice it is better to choose the next size fuse up from the load current, which in this case is around one and a half amps.....so ideally a 3a.
