Discuss Need help with what course to take, seems so many!? in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

are you planning on doing domestic ( houses) electrics or industrial comercial electrics?

I guess the better career opportunities lie within the industrial sector....which would you suggest for this?

Am i right in thinking these qualifications will soon be obselete due to 2356 coming in?

2330 is being phased out. You should think about taking the new course 2357, as to avoid complications with converting to this course later. The other courses follow on from this course. The 17th is best left until the 2nd year, when you have reasonable understanding of installations.

Ok cheers buddy, the college near me is offering the 2357 part time over three years, its going to become very expensive that way....will this full qualify me? or will i need further education on completion?

You will need to do the NVQ, but that should be part of your final year with 2357. With this you will be abasic electrician. Although the other courses are optional, to give yourself the best opportunity for work, you can become part P registered although I certainly would not worry about that at the monent. The 2391 is a hard exam, best left until you have a good couple of years experience.

I hope this helps
