Hi all new to this I have been a spark for 20 years for the past 10 I've been installing 95ma electric air fresheners in public washrooms the norm way we fit them is if the handryer is on a fused spur direct from cu then I put another one nxt to it fuse the new one down to 1a while doing so the other day another spark on site told me u can't do that you've just spurred off a spur to which I laughed he said it's not funny it's against the regs then asked me if we were nic I said no his reply was to tell the customer that we were breaking the law I still thought he was kidding even when I told him that I've spurred off a fused connection unit he was still having none of it I ended up having to walk away from the job because the customer wouldn't believe us what would u guys ave done cheers in advance

well you aint spured from a spur on a radial circuit, you have simply continued the radial and reduced as you went not sure why you fused down twice although its possibly because of the jump from 13a to 1a but not really needed, and if thats the case why the new circuit from the cu in the first place for such a small load?

should have asked him which regs. he worked to as it's not BS7671.

Yeh I no I fused down the new switched spur cos the dryer was on a 20a breaker but the muppet wanted me to either run a new radial bout 20 mtrs to the cu or make the original radial into a ring he just kept tellin me and the customer that he's nic and he's right

The only way to deal with these self appointed experts is to ask them to show you and the customer the reg they are referring to.....if they cant then politely tell them to go forth....(always keep a copy of the regs and OSG in the van for such occasions, they cant use the lack of as a get out clause then.)

I did ask him what regs I also asked him if he got his nic off a frosties box ( if only I was a violent person I could ave punched his face in then but sadly I'm not )

Cheeky with a name like Roger the badger I thought they were protected lol.yeh deffo ave to get osg and regs book for the van

He is a T**T, in front of the customer you should have questioned him. As that's not possible now, petrol bomb his house, only joking, but if I were you I would make sure my name was cleared with the customer, maybe by ringing nic (with customer) and having them explain the facts.

All sorted went to Prague on my m8's stag w/end got introduced to his new father inlaw who I'd already met it was said customer we had a good chat as my m8 is nic aswell he quickly explained that that muppet didn't ave a clue and would b speaking to nic about him and I'm going l8r this week to carry out my install's thanks for everyones advice

In a way he's right - you can't take a (unfused) spur from a spur.
However as mentioned what you've done is not spur from a spur, but extend a radial, and it's individually fused anyway.
