hi I just completed my level 3 2230. Paid for the level 2 and 3 myself as I could not find anyone to do an apprenticeship with. My question is where do I go from here with all the changes coming in. I have applied for an apprenticeship and have an assessment next week. I will be doing the 17th edition in September.

It might help if you let people know where you are located mate. Your age, and previous experience may also help. All I can suggest fella is that you keep on applying to firms. And when you get pee'd off at the lack of replies, apply some more. I was in the industry as a mate for years, before I even went to college. However even with my experience in commercial and domestic it still took me over 150 applications before I landed a job on the cards. Although I did do things for my ex employer and the scumbag agencies. Congrats on passing the course mate, but don't go off thinking that you know it all - believe me passing the tech certs is just the start to your learning. Keep trying and don't give up.

I couldn't agree more with what Ken has told you. Keep knocking, and sooner or later you will get lucky. It takes on average 11 no's to get 1 yes, so badger the local contractors till you are blue in the face but don't overdo it, once a month or so will suffice. At least they will get to know your name they will have the impression that you are keen and eager, its just a matter of getting the lucky break. If they are aware that you are available for work, and they know of you then it may well save them a fortune in advertising and interviewing when a position comes available. Once you do get work then do the polite thing and contact all the other companies you have been in touch with just out of curtesy to let them know you have found employment.
