Hi all,
I recently cracked the glass on my Neff induction hob, whilst replacing the glass is quite straight forward, i have noticed a there is a white paste in the centre of each ring, for sure i know it needs replacing but can someone tell me what it is, I'm assuming a thermal compound....
Many thanks
Robert

OP should post a pic.
1. so we may have a clue as to what the unknown white stuff is and.
2, so we can laugh at the broken glass. :(:(:(

I’ve replaced the glass top on a Neff induction hob. Quite straight forward however I don’t remember seeing any white paste. Did you clear up the remains of the bread sauce from Xmas dinner? ;)
As above, a pic would be good.

Neff would be hesitant,on advising a non-authorised individual,on such a repair. A couple of the home-repair forums,especially state-side,would be worth a trawl.
Heat-sink compound,if that is indeed what the remains are,is available.

I had a similar situation with a repair on my Samsung TV...nobody official UK based would give me a definitive answer,on the heat-sink compound used.
Half an hour on some yankee repair forum, and i had all the details:)

that reminds me when a customer had damaged a glass hob many moons ago,and the joiner had sealed it in with silicone ,and i mean silicone . the only way of getting it out was a hammer job.
It was sealed in tight cut a round with blade .by the time i had finished the Formica came with it has well. the new one fitted nicelly with some of the Formica missing .
