Hi any one know what could cause a kitchen extractor fans lights and fan to stop working fuse not a problem voltage is present no lights poped it's a friend of mine he told me was working ok un till he tried to turn it off it wouldn't turn of so he just switched off the fused spur for it now it won't turn back on its a Neff make D8150N1GB/03 first thought could b the pcb replacement part is ÂŁ170 any one got any experience with them

check the pcb. could be a blown track. usually simple to repair with a soldering iron, solder, and a bit of fuse wire.

Hi,

Had a similar fault a little while back, different make though.
The ' slide ' switch had come apart, it's in two halves that push together; worth checking it may be that simple.

Regards.

As tel points out a blown pcb track very likely caused by one of the lamps blowing, poor design imo. Simple job, done a few over the years. If going down the repair route then consider fused lamps (rough service) or convert to led's.

Hi thanks for everyone tips I've checked the lamps none have blowen was working fine it's when he went to switch it off it wouldn't switch off so he killed the power via the fused spur and now it won't turn on which got me thinking it could b the pcb

Live and Neutral test O.K at the Fan?

A few minutes with a multimeter inside the fan would be beneficial and less expensive than just assuming the PCB has failed

Don't assume anything, use your test equipment methodically and you'll find the problem.
Don't forget to check the FCU out, and i don't mean just the fuse!!!

Yes I've checked it in a known supply first. At the fuse spur for it got a reading of 220 some thing between phase and neutral and phase and earth. But at the hood it self where it enters in to the transformer was getting 206v. I was at a mates when he mentioned it didn't have all my tools with me . What would of caused it not to switch off? That's why I assumed it mite be the switch on the pcb

In addition to Brians post above you can get electronic impulse relays, so no thud as they switch in and out.
