Did a "quick" search (that means I was lazy) but are you guys moving forward with structured/network cabling in the work that you do or advising your customers of the benefits of having a central area where network cabling ends as well as the entry point for all feeds?

More and more wireless nowadays.
Cabling to Access points at most.

Dont agree with that atall, especially if its a new build or rewires ethernet points back to a switch is a must imo, too many wireless devices clogging up the wifi that doesnt have the bandwith to cope with all the traffic causes all the buffering & lagging. Wifi should just be for phone browsing imo. Just rewired a small 3bed house with 18 ethernet points inc point in kitchen island & outside shed.

Hard wired is 100% better... especially in a bigger property and even more so if you have steels in the structure.

I have done this in our place and its excellent. I've a 16 port switch and 12 points around the house. This includes a 4TB backup drive next to the switch and it automatically backs up PC's on the network on a weekly basis.

Some people use powerline kit - this is OK but RCD's and RCBO's do impair the performance.

I agree we do put in the cables always now. This was a HMO we did . But we put them in all domestic
