New 18v combi

I am looking to buy a new 18v combi and my current one a bosch 18v nihd died today....

I was looking at the Bosch GBH18VE-2LI as I already have the Bosch 18v li-ion circ saw and so some batts......

I was told though that they have just bought a new one recently with a full metal chuck(for slightly more money obviously!!) which has higher torque but a lower RPM. Although you can still buy both. Does anyone on here have any stories of either?

Just dont want to spend £350 to find out its a piece of.....

I have the Bosch GBH18VE-2LI and had it for just over a year, I have given it serious abuse on high speed hammer and broke it last week, not sure if the selector switch or the second gear has gone.

Does not matter really as its in the 3 year warranty as I type bosch have it to repair it.

It was a good excuse to by the 18V GBH one.

Looked at the newer model myself on the Bosch website. Another good thing about is they have reduced the length of the drill body. Always felt oversized compared to a majors but look very similar in size now, which can only be a good thing

Bosch collected my drill last wednesday and was returned today with a new gear box and chuck, so pretty good service i'd say.

The guys I work with both use makita and I've always been impressed but I like the specs and the feel of the bosch......

My wholesalers are a bosch stockest so I can get the biggest discount on them, which also helps!!!!. I've ordered the new one so I'll let you all know how it goes

New Bosch 18v vs. makita 18v.......

Using 22mm blue groove drill through a bit of 4x2, out of 3 holes. 3-0 to the bosch!!!

That and its a very good drill in general.... Very impressed
