hi all,
just taken on an apprentice and just wondering if anyone knows about any government funding available for it as he more or less has zero tools etc!
 
if he's coming off the dole, then there should be funding. ask at jobcentre.

His training will be fully funded if he started work under the age of 19, over this it starts to get a bit more involved, and over 24 there is little or no funding available. You will have to pay him/her the national minimum wage as appropriate for his age, he will have to buy his own tools at his own expense, but he will be able to claim flat rate job expenses from HMRC if he pays tax.

and if he's on a low income, he might be able to claim tax credits.
