New build brush up on regs

Hi haven't done new build for a while last time I done one it was 25 % low energy and fitting could only use low energy lamps, I know it's 75 % and I think you can use normal fitting as long as a low energy lamp is fitted

My questions is if I fit a gu10 downlights what led lamp can be used I don't quite understand the 40 lumens per watt thing

say you are fitting LEDs. a 5wattLED lamp will have a lumen output of 200-300 lumens. divide by 5, you get 40-60 lumens/watt. so that complies.

As far as i am aware all LED lamps will fit the criteria

May need to be made for purpose, so gu10 holders would not be appropriate

The old requirement to have purpose designed fittings that will not accept standard lamps no longer apply, gu10's will be fine.

Have a nosy at Part L1 and 2 of the building regs, i think that covers it, and its free to download from somewhere.
