i wanna start a part time business as a sideline to my normal job, the focal point will be oftec registered oil firing technician and home engineering, ie mechanical, electrical, welding and home automation. ill be concentrating on boiler servicing to begin with, but can any of you guys advise on part time business?? tax implications etc??
thanks in advance.

Best to contact the small business advisory people (Business Link) its a free course and covers everything you need to know from business plan to taxation and at most 3 days long. You can choose when to do the three days ie all together or one a week.

Hope that helps

Chris

a friend went to the business link courses, said it was great, worth a go for free. good luck with the business mate.

as it happens mate, my day job is in craigavon, maintenance engineer in food factory, i live in banbridge so thats perfect, not a boiler cowboy either, just finished OFTEC training and asessment. maybe you could pm me with details. i would do odd bit of house bashing but have neither the time nor confidence for bigger jobs. so perhaps i could direct a bit of work to you also
