New cable required?

On a job i am about to start, the array is to be fitted on the clients garage roof. There is a CU in the garage that is fed from the main CU in the house. There is a spare way in the garage CU. Can i use this for the pv system or do i have to run a new cable back to the main cu or to a small separate CU which i will fit by the main CU? i think i will have to run a new cable because the what is generated my the pv will interfere with the feed to the garage. But i'm not sure. Please advise. Thanks

You can connect PV to a sub main with a spare way as long as supply is suitably sized and protected. There is no requirement stating PV has to be connected into a dedicated stand alone CU. Any power generated will go into the system regardless of what its used for.
