Evening gents,
First post here !!. Now then, my current situation is this, I passed my 2330 a couple of years ago and have done my 17th edition in the past year.
For the past year I have been working full time for a sparks learning the trade proper (college don't teach you that).
I'm 'employed' on a sub-contract basis which affords flexibility to both me and the boss. He is registered with the NICEIC and the work is general domestic and light commercial.
I intend to do the 2391 in the next couple of months. Whenever possible I will try to do 'private' work for family and friends. Obviously, I would like to be able to take on more private work as time goes on but will need to certify my own work.
Now for the advice please:
Can I become named on my boss's NICEIC registration and carry that into my own work ? Or, can I use work I've carried out (that my boss has tested and certified) to get myself personally on the scheme ?
Do I need to do anything else to become an approved contractor and self certify ? I surely don't need a Part P qualification do I ?
Armed with the info I can bother my boss !! He hates testing anyway !
