I've been doing domestic installs etc for a while and to be honest am finding it totally boring... feel more like a glorified builder than a technician which is what i naively thought i was getting into, i don't want to move away from electrical work, i'd really just like to hear from anyone who has gone through a similar phase and what if any work you found that challenged you a bit more, without necessarily going back to school to become an engineer, something a bit more demanding of the noggin and less hauling up floorboards..
i quite like the commercial side in the night clubs with the sound and lighting and lighting affects. not quite as bad for penny pinching either as they spec the gear they want so it`s then left for you to get the best price you can with a good mark up hopefully on it.then the best one is the call outs i had from one club that wanted to use second hand rubbish that kept going down constantly. i did tell them but they would not listen. well not until they got the months bill. the circuits where shot and ended up pulling them out and replacing them.
