Hi

[ElectriciansForums.net] New cooker radial circuit!

Looking at the picture above what would be my options for adding a new 32amp radial circuit for an electric cooker? Would it be possible to run the circuit a short distance from the CU to a RCD FCU and then on to the cooker control unit? Or is that half a foot of unprotected (RCD) cable not acceptable? Only other option would be a new CU I guess? Or can you buy RCBO's that fit a CU this old?

Thanks

What your planning is within the regs. That short run from the cu to the new rcd FCU doesn't need rcd protection if its clipped direct. You could always use pvc conduit like the rest? Either way is fine.

Is there not a cooker circuit already provided in this CU?? If so, why do you need another cooker point/FCU?? You haven't been to B&Q and listened to there crap about needing two supplies for a split load oven/hob installation, ....Have you???
