New CU

Hi all.

Been asked to change a CU and done a little bit of investigation and found that most legs of each circuit will not be long enough to reach the new terminals. What is the correct way of extending the cable? Just wanna see the different ways that people do it.

Insulated crimps normally.

Thru crimps if inside the DB but an adaptable box with din rail and din connectors would be the best way if there is room.

Just as an FYI, if the cables aren't long enough due to the length of a dual-RCD board, you can always opt for a (albeit more expensive) small main-switch board with RCBO's. I've found in the past that there's rarely a need to extend anything then, plus you're providing the best installation available.
If you do need to extend, you could try the new LineProducts in-line push connectors (see sponsor ads).

Every board I have changed I have had to extend cables, I use though crimps. Just make sure the main incoming tails reach .
