Hi Guys

I got to connect a new shower up to an exsisting circuit, that is on its own circuit protected by an old rewirable replacement plug in mcb.

Should I replace this with an RCD?

Cheers

You don't actually HAVE TO, unless RCD protection is required by the manufacturer’s installation instructions, or a new circuit is required (to provide for increased load, for example).

Personally, I wouldn't dream of not adding RCD protection, even on a like for like swap.

Regulation number(s)
134.1.1 510.2

that, IMO, would be the ideal solution. don't forget, if you are fitting a shower CU, you will have to fully test the circuit as well.
