Hi Everybody

I'm looking for a career change and to qualify as an electrician. I am looking around and it looks like the best option is

City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3

City & Guilds 2356 NVQ Level 3

I have been quoted ÂŁ5,858.85 Inc VAT

Is this the best course/pathway to take and does the course price sound reasonable?

Many Thanks

Ryan

Sounds similar to my course i am studying. I've only just started my course as i,ve been made redundant but its cheaper than yours and covers the everything in levels 2 and 3 including testing and inspecting. The company is called Access 2 Traders. You should look at their website and see what they have to offer. Their facilities look great and the reviews have been good. Some of the guys on this forum are using them so you can read about their experiences. Do you already have a job or placement lined up? Because this is the situation i'm in at the moment. I am trying to find and employer who will take on a 29 year old starting out again from scratch. One other thing about the course i'm doing is that the payment terms are brilliant. I was accepted on a payment scheme where by i make monthly installments of about ÂŁ90.00 per month over 5 years. So it doesn't dent your pocket all in one hit. But the best thing is is that i'm payimg NO INTEREST on the payments, so its a win win. Apparently Barclays are doing a special incentive scheme but they sort all of that out.

i done eal moduels 1-17 and 16th edition 3 years ago then i worked for a contractor for free for about 6 weeks to show him how quik i picked things up he took me on after this time and worked for him for about a year now im self employed nic registered and doing ok .just dont be frightend to ask the question if your stuck. you will get a lot more respect from the lads who have done the job for years because they dont like smart arses who have done a 6 week course and think they no it all. and until you get out there and get the experience qualifications mean nothing

All looks a bit complicated nowadays. What happened to block release doing C&G 236 pt 1 and 2. AM1 next then C&G 236 pt 3 on day release then AM2 . All took four years and your time served.

Ok so now I'm thinking about getting on the job training with a company which route do people think would be the better option. Either doing all the training and finding work for the NVQ part or starting with a company from scratch as a trainee?
