Hiya!

I was wondering if anyone could help, i'm just about to replace the wiring in the garage. Its only got a single light 6A and one double socket radial circuit 16A in the dist board. The two way box in the garage is supplied by 2.5mm SWA from the house which is protected by a 16A breaker which in turn is protected by a 30mA RCD. when ive replaced the two circuits in the garage where should i be testing from? The box in the garage or the box in the house??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Box in the garage as you have not replaced the distribution circuit. You will need a Ze from the origin in the house though!

if the new box supply is protected at the house by a 30mA RCD am i correct in saying that i wont need RCDs in the garage box? When filling out the EIC for the garage box does the supply cable get recorded as the 2.5mm distribution size?
Thanks ill measure not much of a hassle anyway.

If RCD protected in the house, then no need for one in garage. The suplly conductors are always the same. Its the size of your tails at the origin. The 2.5mm is only a distribution circuit

As above aswell, you will need 2 schedule of test results. One for DB1 and the other for DB2.
