New iPhone September 2018

My iPhone has gone Pete Tong, so I'm gonna have to get a replacement. And before anyone suggests it, the replacement has got to be an iPhone for various reasons, primarily is I know how to use these ones

I'm led to believe there are going to be some new model iPhones realised this September. I've never bought a new iPhone before, always relying on cast offs from my family, this ain't gonna happen this time.

So I'm thinking of buying a new one as a one off, I don't want to change my sim only contract.

My question is, will the release of these new models, reduce the price of the existing ones, my likely intended purchase?

Check on MacRumours, new phones tend to be more expensive and doesn't necessarily mean the price of the older phones goes down you may get a better deal on a contract from a provider but you want a SIM only phone, remember its all tax deductible.......

Thanks, I was kinda hoping in a reduction in the price of the old models, but having never been in this position I'm a bit clueless.

iPhone 8 is available but £800 for a 64GB is a bit of a hit in the pocket.

Do any of the phone shops offer refurbished models? You will still get a fair warrenty for a (slightly) cheaper price.

Looking at Currys for example, £549 for a 7 & £639 for an 8.

Not point putting it off then, purchase that is?

Seen some, but no a huge difference in price IMO.

You are Buzz Light Year you don't have to pay to travel to holiday destinations.

The thing with phones now is that they are used as mini mobile PC's.

Not gonna spend a grand, but might spend £600. Thats just a week in Bournemouth.
