chooks
Hi there folks.
At present my oven and hob both run on gas due to the fact that is no cooker circuit in the kitchen. After buying a new kitchen in the sales, I have decided to replace the appliances and run them on electric.
This will mean running a cooker circuit from the CU into kitchen. Getting the cable from the CU to kitchen won't be a problem but I'm not sure where to fit the cooker switch and outlet plate.
I would like the cooker switch to be mounted under the wall units along side a double socket as this would make it easily accessible. The switch would be 2 feet to the left of the proposed area for the outlet plate and appliances.
This would mean that I would have to run the supply cable along the wall and up to the switch and then back down and across the 2 feet to the outlet plate.
The walls in my home are all lathe and plaster, so with the emphasis on vertical and horizontal paths for cables what would be the safest way?
One more thing , could I take a fused spur from the outlet plate straight up the wall to power a extraction hood? or from the double socket on the left?
All help is most appreciated.
