Just received this:

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme published a one month consultation on MCS scheme thresholds and 70kWth Application Guidance document on Friday 18[SUP]th[/SUP] September. The deadline for submitting comments is Friday 30th October 2015. For further information please click here.

I would suggest we all reply to keep it the same.

In my opinion > 50kW requires different expertise and would normally be an M&E type contract, don't let these guys scope creep into commercial areas, the whole design and contract process is very different above 50kW.

Same for thermal, though perhaps 100kWTh and a single boiler of up to 100kWTh may be appropriate.

MCS is not necessary for the larger jobs and is already well covered by the H&S At Work Act etc, duty of care etc

there could be a plus side to this for PV if it also meant that applications up to 250kWp could be handled by the electricity companies rather than having to go through Ofgem's massively complex process and endure the 6 month (and increasing rapidly) backlog they appear to be running.

We're seeing the ROOFIT process taking 9 months at the moment, it did drop down to about 3 months at the beginning of the year but its back up again now.

Must admit it would be nice to get rid of ROOFIT although as Somecamel says the end is nigh for them, sold our first unsupported system last week 300kW! Although the guy just doesn't like tariffs and doesn't believe in them...
