Hi and welcome to the forum great people here PAT testing is an open book exam ie you are asked the question and you find the answer in the book if you need to. The book is an IEE publication ISBN No is 9780863418334. As for work I think we are all in the same boat but if you let us all know what area you are in you might strike lucky.

Best of luck

Chris

Hi Chis.
thank you for your reply so the exam is at home or tech? well will be hoping to enrol next week before it gets booked up, that publication IEE publication ISBN No is 9780863418334 is that a book or books? and where is it available from as i have the IEE wiring regs 17th edition + the on site guide for the 2330 course i am half way thru. any idea of the costs?

and I in the stoke on trent area near to Trentham Gardens if that helps lol.

Anyway thank you for taking time out to let me have the info.

cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew

Best to google the ISBN number and compare prices I think its about ÂŁ30 and its the one you will use on the course and where all the questions come from for the exam. Did mine back in March this year. The books you have dont help. You have to be an electrician to be an electrician however you do not have to be an electrician to be a PAT tester.

When I did it it was a two day course with the exam at the end of it and as I say you can take the book in with you. Its a C&G exam so you will find out same day if you have passed or not. 30 multiple choice questions.

If you need any help let us know

Chris

Hi Chris
thanks again for that info will do that and see whats about, but it looks quite a good course and could be an opportunity for me to start a small business in the future.

cheers again and hope you are doing well with your new career.

regards.

Andrew
