Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to the industry, currently taking my C&G Level 2. I'm looking at buying tools and have found a few cheap electrician starter kits but have my doubts about their quality. Any suggestions? I have a part time job in a pub which I'm sure u can imagine does not pay well!

Hi and welcome.

Buy cheap, replace often!

You can't go far wrong with CK, suggest you start with a CK kit and add other tools as and when you need them

Hi there hope you enjoy the forum and the course, good luck with it.

You need to buy the basics first, do not spend a fortune buying all the kit you could ever need, get the tools you will need now (probably reasonably cheap, but not very cheap) and build up your kit over time. B&Q (sorry) sell a cheap VDE pliers and screwdriver set for £30, not wonderful but OK to start.
As Murdoch says buy cheap replace often, however if you buy a really nice quality screwdriver for £50 and drop it down a drain next day...
You will need to pay a lot for your tester so work out a budget for what you can buy after this and work from there.

You'll find them everywhere. Try linkedin, a few trade magazines. I'd find email addresses on websites and send it to them all. Ask in cover...
