Hi all
,
I'm obviously new to the forum but been lurking for quite some time.
After a bit of advice really.
Dilemma is, I'm 32 and have C & G 2330 level 2 and 3 which is all good but really need to somehow sort the NVQ/apprenticeship see of things.
my age is the main issue regarding apprenticeship so am trying to find another option.
Needless to say it's probably a massive pay drop (missus full time degree student and very expensive 4 year old daughter) to go with your standard electrical contractor (if they were even willing to take someone on my age)
I work as a maintenance technician in theatre and have a good relationship with my electrical contractor, and could quite easily have the scope of work needed to complete the NVQ but unlikely to get sponsorship through work to do the apprenticeship.
The theatre i work in is probably the most high tech and modern in the country.
I'm not adverse to funding this myself though one ex lecturer quoted something in the region of £8000 to do an apprenticeship which is a tad more than I would like.
I'm just hoping that someone here may have any ideas or have been where i am.
Thanks
Chris
