Found these online earlier...

LINE 32A IN LINE [LIL32] - ÂŁ0.11 : for electricians by electricians

Never used them personally, anyone got any opinions?

Can they be heatshrinked like a crimp or do they have to be within and enclosure?

(by the way, this is my second attempt to post on this subject... if anyone has spotted my missing thread from earlier, please point me in the right direction!)

I bought some recently just to try out. Personally, I would only use these in an enclosure. The could be heat shrunk, but don't need to be. The fact that they are "in line" can make for a tidier job. Have to say, I only use Wago/Ideal/Line now for small csa cable jointing.

Why do you assume that they are MF connectors? It is a combination of things which makes for MF.
Yes, they are very good, but line sell a fully fledged MF connector block and enclosure kit if you want to comply with regs.

Btw, I signed the petition, wrote to my MP about this subject (which was passed to the appropriate dept), and got told that the current system is fine...

Agreed - I'd missed the MF reference!

I get a bit confused by the fact that Wagos etc are only judged to be MF when in an enclosure so there is strain relief.

If we're talking about installed cable, surely strain relief wouldn't be needed as the cable can't move anyway...

Wagos & Line push-connectors connectors need to be derated when being used in an MF situation (read wagos website). However, Line do a fully rated MF block which doesn't need derating. The enclosure, as you quite rightly say, is also part of the MF requirement, along with labelling (special cable tie in the case of Line)

Cheers mate.

I'll read up on it online. That certainly explains the extortionate price of their cable ties!

I use them when installing spotlights as its not always easy to put 2 1.5mm T&E cables into a small enclosure, so use the larger ones in a recessed enclosure located just above a cupboard so not to visible but easy to access and makes working on the spots really easy.

i also use them for above bathroom lights in a recessed enclosure
