Hi Everybody

I have a tight budget and need to buy a new set of test instruments.
I have been thinking of getting the "all in one" type units.
Does anybody have any advice on which is best?
I am looking for a unit that can sync with my laptop and produce some posh printed certs.

any advice appreciated!

Thanks

James

If budget is tight I don't think you'll get top end gear in a tight budget. Haven't used any of the testers with bluetooth etc to comment if its worth the money or not.

The Metrel MI3000 is around ÂŁ414 delivered from Test Meter (add in a Forum 5% discount after that).

A lot of editable PDF's on this forum that will deliver a nice looking Test Cert for all the cost of paper and ink. If you want to buy the software stuff then Tysoft's Easy Cert stuff I find very good, with good customer support as well. It's just over ÂŁ200 though, and to keep it updated is around ÂŁ70 a year after that. I have it and think its great, that said if I had my time again I'd look more at the free PDF's available here and see if I could make them work.

is the syncing thing on those testers really worth the bother and the expense?
Easy cert with a cheap netbook works great for me.
I have a Megger 1553 or 2, works a treat, rarely lets me down
