Hi. Does anyone know why this new oven keeps tripping the MCB?The MCB is 32A no RCD. The oven is plugged into a twin socket, which is on a radial circuit, with 4mm T+E. The oven is only 2.5Kw. This oven trips after its been on for about 40 mins to an hour. The manufactures of the oven have been out on 2 occasions and cant find any problems with the oven. In fact they are blaming the flex and plug that come off the oven and into the socket.

Has anyone done a set of tests on the radial?

If they are blaming the flex, is this a guess or have they based their conclusion on facts.

Replace the flex and it should be ok if thats what they reckon the issue is:coffee:

Isn't it the oven companies flex and plug that would have been fitted when you bought it? And if it is why are they not changing it for you if it's under warranty, I assume as you new it is under warranty?

I would be looking at Electro-tech said, is there other appliances ie kettle, washing machine, fridge/freezer on this radial?

Why not plug it in to another circuit and run it for 40 minutes and see whether the MCB for that circuit trips? That would give you a clue whether it was the oven itself, or the circuit/MCB.

first thing i would do is clamp meter it and see if it's pulling excess current when it's been on a while.

Element is the first place i would look. Then on yo internal connections/cables etc.

If its brand new, then a call to the manufacturer service centre is the way forward.
