hi, could someone please clarify for me, i am on my second year 2330 level 2. i am aware that the 2330 is going to be replaced with the new qcf qualifications. i am a mature student who is looking to change career. want i want to know, will my qualifications be useless or will it not matter, is just a case of changing from the old 236 to the 2330. also when i do my third year qualification level 3. i want to do the nvq level 3. so i can actually call myself an electricain. i'm not sure exactly how i'm going to do it as i want to be self employed. (i'll figure that bit out when i come to it) want i want to know is will that part of the nvq be replaced by the qcf before i get to do it. also i read that when the qcf comes into place unless your in the electrical industry you will not be able to train as an electrician. so no more older students trying to retrain. any advice would be appreciated. thanks patrick

Hi All
The 2330 and the NVQ are going and will be replaced by a new course. There will be a way forward for the 2330/2 candidates onto the new course. The NVQ is going to have big changes and may not be called NVQ.
There is nothing to stop you starting the NVQ at the same time as the 2330. By doing this you will still be given time after 2010 to complete the NVQ.

hi tony. i have spoken to college staff who deal with 2330 and nvq. they have explained that qualifications will always change. they said approx every seven years and because im in my second year now i will actually start my nvq in my 3rd year.

Training and qualifications will always change, How could all the training organisations survive if it didn't and the government would also lose an income stream from the VAT charged so they have a vested interest as well
