So any one heard when they are now rolling these things out now??


thought it was feb 2014 but it seems to have gone quiet

and was thy going to include an isolator within the meter in the end?

No idea, but the isolator as far as i'm aware got squashed by the greedy privately owned suppliers. Makes you wonder what everyone is paying the standing charge for, which should have more than covered the cost of an inclusive isolator or even a stand alone DP isolator!!

Profit always comes before safety, seems to be the order of the day in the UK!!

You'll find that in most European countries they will have a means of single point isolation after the meter installation and before distribution installations DB/CU. They never seem to harmonise anything that would be useful to the UK, only the stuff that hinders rather than helps!! lol!!

Last I read somewhere, is that these so called smart meters aren't going to save customers a great deal of money as first thought! So all the hype etc died of natural death. Also the technology of the proposed meters had already been superseded so back to the drawing board.
