Hi all,
A house has no rcd protection and im not able to change to an rcbo on the relevant circuit. A new CU is not an option.
A new socket is required in one room where the only other power source is on an opposite wall therefore I see the best option is to chase the wall out where the new socket is required and same where the old socket is to feed one form the other.
Regs state a depth of 50mm in order to comply with not having an rcd? seems a lot of work so I thought about an Rcd socket but that seems fine for anything plugged into the socket but what about the cable feeding it? if someone nails the cable it wont be protected.....
this scenario must come up time and time again... Is there a best practise?
Thank you in advance
