Hi all.... been reading stuff from this forum for a while and it great...

have a question....

started a barn conversion, first fix done... client contacted EDF so a new supply can be brought in and they are asking for a completed installation certificate before they bring a new cable in to supply new installation........!!! how can it be completed if there is no power to do the live testing....? confused dot com....!!!

BTW it's a TT system

You can carry out an initial verification which will contain all of the dead tests. Then you can apply the 'enquired' ze to the readings for comparison.

It is quite common for suppliers to want to obtain an installation cert prior to their connection. Occasionally, it may be an existing PIR that is requested.

cheers widdler...

so.... apply Ze....and calculate the Zs's.....? how about the RCD times...?

do you know what exactly there want form the test sheets or is it just a matter of seeing them...?

there was no existing PIR it was an old barn that never had power.... nearest incoming supply is overhead power lines and i think the tap off tranny is about 40m away...
