Just purchased a fluke 1651 test kit, brand new condition with twelve months calibration on it....I have got my head around the function keys for the likes of 180deg rcd tests, 250,500 etc for IR, bin told to forget about the three pin plug lead.....any other tips or anything else I should look out for whilst using this.....?

Thanks in advance.

I too have just got a new fluke multifunction......1653B.

Went for this one in particular as it also has the facilty to measure earth electrode resistance using the current spike kit.

Nowt wrong wi my plug lead.....what gripes have you heard regarding it???

Clueless.....that was straight from the NAPIT field officer....didn't explain why at all, and when I questioned it he just said "experience kid" it was in a 2392 class and I have been taught by him a few times an let's just say he "ageist" so never bothed waiting around for a proper explanation, so I have turned to the forum for my answer.

They can be prone to the same problem as the R2/socket and see type adapters ... IE you need to insert and withdraw them a few times on older sockets to clean the contacts on the socket. Technically a problem with the socket itself (not the lead or adapters).

It is 10A yer, I could see the issue myself

Null leads take result.....

Some people are saying like null leads, get a letter from god divide that by...... Well you get my drift on what people get like when. They don't like something..
