Hello,

I am 17 years old, from london, studying a-levels at school, but i don't want to go through with my a-levels anymore. I want to do an apprenticeship NVQ 3 in electro technical, but would like to know what people roughly earn once qualified and experienced and what its like to be an electrician.....advice please cheers

Charlie

welcome to the forum. advice from me is do your A levels, then start thinking. reason i say this is: with A levels, you can gbo to uni and do degree or HND. if after A levels, you don't want to go this route, you've still got them. after A's you can go train as electrician if that's the way for you.

good advice there from telectrix. keep your options open, you could jack in the a levels start your apprenticeship and hate it after a while and you have burned the bridges so to speak. at least the a levels can lead on to better things if you want to. also you have just done the 11 years and only two left :) enjoy them they will pass really quick mate honest. with the way things are going you will have another 60 years till retirement so no rush :D

stick with the A-levels, if you don't like em - well welcome to the real world, not every thing is a bunch of roses. Takes a bit of character though to see things through IMO.
