Need a new voltage tester, been looking at the Megger TPT220, but it seems like the T5-1000 comes highly recommended.

The Megger has an RCD/FI test function that allows for the simple testing of 30mA RCDs, RCBOs and safety breakers. A test between phase and earth on a circuit protected by an RCD, RCBO or safety breaker will not trip these devices.

The fluke doesn't seem to have this function, but is it worth having? how does it test an RCD?

Anybody got one, or any helpful information - Thanks

T5-1000 is the bees knees :-D

Thanks - They do sound good, still curious about this RCD test function on the Megger though, maybe all it is, is that it allows you to test an RCD circuit without tripping the RCD?

or maybe a little megger finger comes out the back and pushes the button for you, or maybe it takes a picture of the CU and shows it on the display with an arrow pointing to the RCD saying Yep, its this one, or maybe a .....no, better stop there

Sorry it's taken me a week to reply, mainly due to the overwhelming response (mostly by me and Nikmet) but I am now in a position to put you all out of the misery of not knowing and announce that I have decided on the Fluke T5 and as from today, I am the proud owner, must say it look like a nice piece of kit, can't wait to get started with it, suppose you are all going to tell me now that the Megger was the one!
