Hi

I hope someone can help me here. My boiler situated in a room inside my house is dying, I have had enough of repairing so have got prices ready for it to be replaced with a new one in the garage. I still have a very old fuse box (27years) that need replacing but it works and the boiler needs to come first. Coming out of the fuse box is a large wire that feeds an also very old 40amp trip for the shower. Can I have this replaced with a new 'Garage' consumer unit that would have an extra spur or two so that the boiler can be connected to this new feed. If so, any recommendations of the parts needed and rough price to expect to have it replaced.
I do need some wiring replaced in the garage as the previous owner had multiple spurs wired in that are spurs on spurs on spurs which I would like to get rid of at the same time. The shower will be going not too far in the future also as I am going to have the electric one replaced with a thermostatically controlled one from the water supply rather than electric. Once the shower is gone then it would be good to be able to use this consumer unit for additioanl electrics ready when I replace the main board.

Thanks if you can help with this

Nick

Are you looking to do this work yourself or get a competent sparky in? I see you are asking for guidance for rough pricing but its almost impossible to price from a description and thus only a site visit would determine this?

Where are you in the UK? There may be a member or two who could come and look for you and if you are in England or Wales this work will more than likely fall under part P!
