We have heard self isolation and social distances but I have had an email from my boss saying I have been furloughed, must admit I had to Google this so whether I have a job at the end of this who knows.

furlough is an american term for holiday, or vacation. also used by the military as a term for authoriised leave. going without income is hardly what i call a holiday.

Has he just told you? Because he should have discussed it with you according to the government guidance. All I know is the government will be paying 80% of your salary but you must do no work at all for the company during the period your furloughed.

I've never heard the word before all this and when I looked it up, couldn't find a decent definition.

It's most likely I'll be furloughing myself later this week.

He hasn't discussed it has such but the company manager, not him has been outlining things but discussion or not it was inevitable.

If they're going to make up the other 20% then no discussion is required.

A new term I learned a good few years ago re employment was Garden Leave.
I wasn't on it but several of my colleagues were, B*rstrds

Viral load -- sneaky little bugg-rs

cheeers @davesparks

If one unit of the virus gets in to your system it will begin to multiply and your body will begin to work out how to fight it, after a period of time your body will work out how to kill it and proceed to do so.
By the time your body has worked out how to kill it that one unit of virus may have multiplied to 100 units.
However if you start with 10 units in your body then by the time your body has worked out to kill it there are 1000 units in your body and you are far, far more ill.

It is not the case that once you have caught the virus you have it and that is it, every time you pick up another dose from another infected person it increases your viral load.
This is why if you catch it you need to keep away from people, even other people who have caught it.

So you haven't watched many John Wayne westerns or war films then. :)
More dilution of out language.
