Ive just been taken on by a company and start as a elecrtitians mate in a couple of weeks. The company mainly do first and second fixes on new build houses. Ive passed my c&g level 2 and level 3 but ive no practical experience. To give me a head start could any one recommend any wiring books or good web site i could check out. :)

If you can get your hands on an IET publication electricians guide to the building regs would be ideal in your situation ie working on new builds .Its easy to understand and there are plenty of diagrams routing of cables holes drilled through joists etc.

These are essential (imho)

You'll eventually need your own copy of the BS7671:2008 Regs, but these are going to be revised in 2011, so probably not a good idea to splash out of full priced version just yet.
