Hi ,just joined the Forum to get try and get simplified/real world answers to every day electrician questions, I find the NIC advice is too rigid and often unrelated to the world we wire in :yes:

This is one example :-

Question to NIC "Please can you assist us in obtaining the maximum period between Electrical Condition Report/Periodic Inspection of a static residential mobile home park and of the static mobile homes?"

Answer received "The Part P legislation does not stop you from completing Periodic Inspections.
It is recommended that periodic inspection and testing is carried out at least every:

•	10 years for a domestic installation
•	5 years for a commercial installation
•	3 years for caravans
•	1 year for swimming pools

Other instances when a periodic inspection should be carried out are:

•	when a property is being prepared to be let
•	prior to selling a property or when buying a previously occupied property"

As you can see this didn't answer the question I had asked :6:
