Hi there,
I'm a heating engineer so any electrical terms would be best not used with me.
This is in my own home.

I have just replaced a REDRING eco 7 time controller with Newlecs version as the whole component stopped working.
The wiring was basically the same.
Put the fuse back in..Nothing.

Realised that it was the switched fused spur outlet which was at fault.
Bought a new one from screwfix yesterday, fitted it and bingo..
I read that the clock won't start keeping time until 15 minutes of power being on.
So I tested the Boost Control which worked fine.

Came back to it the next morning but the clock hadn't moved.
The clock manually turns as I had to set it to the correct time..

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

Also I would like to add:
The boost timer never turns.
If you start the 1 hour boost it will remain there until you manually rotate it to the off position.

Seems as though something electrically / mechanically isn't right.

I fitted one of these about six months ago I think there is a link to bring the battery into play and the unit should be powered up for 24 hours is this the same as above

Other than it being "Newlec" as opposed to "Horstmann" then yes that is the one, instructions are identical.
The only link I have put in is from terminal 4 to terminal 5 as instructed.

Thanks for replying.

The timer and boost now works fine.
It has been left in the timed position for about 36 Hours and about 1 hour ago it started making a clock ticking noise and has been keeping time.

I'm glad I just left it rather than pulling it about.

Thanks for everyones replies, great forum, great help.
