I

Ian Hickman

I have just completed bronze domestic course with tradeskills 4 u in crawley

i have c&g 4141 elec install work in domestic dwelling
2393 101 part p building regs.
2392-100 inspection & testing
2382-601 17th edition

(the big 4)

whilst i see out my notice with current employer, i ask for any one in the local area who is willing to have me work along side to gain experience and guidance to become self employed to get in touch. i am fully free from March but have numerous days off between now and then.

i have been with my present employer for 9.5 yrs, this i chose as a new chapter in my working life and
Ideally i wish to keep to jobs in the domestic dwelling starting off with some basics to familiarise myself with paperwork etc and the non notifyable work, and gradually be able to be signed off to carry out notifyabe work within 6 months... thats my realistic plan

i am based in verwood, 15 miles north of Bournemouth.

Re: newly qualified electrician near Bournemouth - seek experience/guidance to go s/e

Hi Ian and welcome.

That 4141 course is just like a domestic taster course from what I have read. Hopefully you can now get on a firm, get experience, start an 2357 NVQ3 and become an electrician. Also, I don't believe your current qualifications would be enough to satisfy NICEIC, NAPIT etc, you would need to check that. Also, check out JIB who grade us as Electricians, to see what is required.
