Hello everyone,

I live in Birmingham and new to the industry and I would like some advice from you all
about how to get a job ideally as an industrial Electrical Technician or an Electrician mate.

Some qualifications I have include
*17th Edition,
*IPAF 3a and 3b,
*ECS,
* S7 & Allan Bradly Programming (automation)
*HND Electrical Engineering.
*Industrial Electrical Maintenance
I already know how to fault find on motors, contactors, sensors, invertors, switches, relays, and many more components.
I am aware I need experience to be able to get into these roles which is why I want to start
working as an electrician mate because I am not having any luck at the industrial roles. I am pretty good with tools. I have already sent my CVs to a couple of the leading electrical agencies but had no response.

Any ideas as to what to do?
My experience is limited.

Thank you all for reading and your response.
Cheers

Hi just replying so you don't feel ignored. Sounds like you have really good qualies. I can only suggest advertise yourself at wholesalers and use the jobs section on here to advertise yourself and look for work as well. Best of luck in your search.

I'm gob smacked you cannot find employment in a FMCG environment.

Have you approached your local factories?

I'd employ you at the drop of a hat.

Good luck.
I have approached some employers with my CVs but nothing yet. All of them want experience. I have even offered to work a day per week for free but no luck. I have been to several interviews and they are happy with the conversation I have with them and my technical knowledge but again they don't think I'm experienced enough. Bear in mid I spiced up my CV to get those interviews. Otherwise I wouldn't have got anywhere near their door. Even at the ineterviews they said if i got the job, I would realize i know more on PLCs than their staff.

Thanks for your reply.
Cheers

so maybe concentrating on plc's is the way forward. look at companies with major automation.
I'm not a very good programmer. I can plug in and look for faults. I can also write small programs but not like for huge automated warehousing. Do you live in the Midlands? I see on your profile you are in Lincolnshire but do you work in Birmingham?
I ask because your profile name looks familier.
