Looking to use some of this cable. I am interested in how to strip it and how easy it is, does it require a ferrel on the end? Any help most welcome

Stripping is extremly easy - you just make a radial cut into the outer sheath as you would do with every other cable as well. As there is an aluminium layer below the sheath the danger of cutting into the core insulation is minimised (of course you can damage the cores if you use such a strong force that you cut also through the aluminium tape).

After the radial cut you just bend the cable in the aerea of the cut about 45 degrees and then back and the sheath will break together with the aluminium tape at the line of the cut. Now you just slide off the piece of sheath and the work is done.

You do not need a ferrel - the electrical contact to the aluminium foils is done by the bare earth conductor.

I suppose you know the advantage of a screened cable if it comes to penetration by conductive material like nails, cutting into it and so on- so I wont't go into details about that.

Hope that could answer your question - if not don't hesitate to ask

I would recommend wrapping with insulation tape after installing the earth sleeving , we use a lot of this cable and because the insulation is so soft it is possible to damage this when stripping
