Hello everyone,
Basically I am seeking advice about what to do next. I have gained the 2330 City & Guild Electrotechnical Level 3 qualification, 17th Edition and a CSCS Card. I recently got my first electrical job, which is temporary, working as an Electricians Mate. I was told by one of the lads who I work with that I can take pictures of all my work which then could maybe be added to my portfolio. So that same day I went into college and asked if this was true, they said no as it's only a temporary job and they have to have someone come out from college and assess me on site. I asked if there was any other way and what I could do next and they said "Just look for an apprenticeship". I have been looking for an apprenticeship for 3 years but with no luck, plus I am 22 now and time is running out. I am constantly writing, phoning, applying to companies but with no luck. I find a vacancy which would suit me to a tee but I always get rejected. I have spent over 200 pounds out of my own money on tools to be more admirable, plus I paid for the 17th Edition myself. I have a driving licence but no car and I am willing to travel.
Is there any other way I can get qualified?
Is there any thing I can do to help get an apprenticeship?
I just really want to make a start on my portfolio and progress.
Thank you!
