It's all over, just had my NIC first assesment on tuesday. I'm pleased to say all went very well, so a big thanks to anybody who helped answer any of my postings. the asseser was great made me feel at ease straight away, no questions to trip me up, and if i didn't quite understand something fully he was more than happy to explain in detail. All in all the 2 site visits took around 3 hours (domestic installer scheme).
So again thanks for all the help i'm sure i will be posting more questions as i progress.

Hi hood2
Can you tell me a bit more about your Assessment, questions asked etc? I've got mine in a few weeks and I’m v nervous.....

This was my first assesment ever, so i was ****ting it, i had all my paper work in order books, health and safety policy, ÂŁ2million insurance policy, complaints procedure, calibration records (which i haven't started as only just got megger) but got a sheet to start keeping records on.Then he came to my house for my minior works job for which i just added an extra socket onto my garage ring main. In my house i did a Ze test, PSCC and PEFC, Zs on my adapted circuit and the RCD auto test. He checked my results against my certificate. I made sure i followed the safe isolation procedure, asking if everybody was happy for me to turn the electric off. We then went to my major job which was big, a new 17 way consumer unit change, new ring final circuit, new cooker radial, new lighting radial, and new boiler feed. This was all in an kitchen extension i had built. Here we just did the R1 + R2 on the sockets which he was happy for me to do via a socket instead of removing the consumer unit front as this was located right under the stairs. Again i did a Zs test on this circuit and the RCD auto test. I asked him a number of questions in return. All this took about 3 hours. He asked me some questions too some which i knew some i didn't for which i owned up and he was happy to talk them through. After that he said welcome to the NIC you're in. So all in all it was not worth worrying about. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any more questions i will try and help but am a relative beginner myself.
Good luck , don't worry it's not all that bad.

Didn't notify myself as no need to with minor works, then with the major job it was covered under the plans for the extension that were submitted.
