Got my first nic eic assessment coming up very scared bout how I do. Any tips I can have would be great cheers

Just try to relax and take it easy, it is worrying when some suit comes in checking your work but aslong as you know your stuff, have all the required paperwork, have a good understanding of the regs and keep paying the fee's alls good.

They're not there to try and trip you up and make you look bad, they're there to make sure things are good (as your potentialy representing thier name) and your keeping up with thier standards (so they can keep chargeing you every year).

Chillax and all will be fine.

Never heard of anyone failing any of these Scams so-called assessments yet, so i doubt you'll be the first!!! Just make sure your fee check has cleared!! ...lol!!!

Re: nic

All you need is to make sure your paperworks up to scratch, you have brought all the right books(from them). and you can read the regs book and understand guidance note 3.

Re: nic

Could you expand on the question?
Do you mean the NICEIC?
Are yo referring to DI or AC?
Do you mean the assessment?

If you want to be a DI/Part P nobody fails with any Scheme provider - unless you fail to pay? ;)

That is true, but if you are cr@p then they will want to see you every year.
If you have all your ducks in a row, can answer most of the questions on 17th edition, and show them a nice tidy install then they'll leave you alone for a couple, maybe more, years.
They do a risk assessment as they havent got the time to spend half a day, every year, with every registered electrician.

Before the visit they will send you a check list.
Go through it and make sure you've got all the docs, including the BGB, OSG, GN3, GS38, HSE guff, etc. And originals of your exam certs. And you'll be fine.

Every company that is nic approved gets inspected every year , never heard of them not coming for a few!!!

I thought NICEIC inspected every year also? However I'm not a DI. Given that a high proportion of the DI's will be Electrical Trainee don't they need inspecting frequently??

I want to see my inspector on a regular basis so I get to have a good whinge and chew his ear for a couple of hours. Isn't that what we pay for :)
