nic epic sign up

hi all i signed up to the nic eic 4 weeks ago now i had my welcome pack come thru but heard nothing more. they are supposed to be contacting me with an assessment date. any ideas how long usually takes?

i will call them tomorrow if all else fails.

called them today apparently they sent out a letter on the 10th this month. I'm booked in for 26th january

That old trick. My mate fell foul of the "we sent you a letter, honest" treatment for three assessments in a row. They tried to charge him for not being able to make it every time. He asked why they couldn't send him a text and email as well. "Our system couldn't possibly be capable of something as complicated as that" came the ridiculous reply.

Technically its 30 days but the NICEIC / Elecsa penalise you if its after 23 days.

The 30 days is from when YOU say the job is complete, so if its missing a label or 2 then its not complete!

No they don't, haven't got anything in place to monitor this. I know because I was late once and nothing happened, discussed with assessor and he said something about they haven't got authority to 'penalise'.
