Rung up the nic to order some EICR forms and they said we do not have any In stock. I said so what shall I do as I have a report to fill and they said use the old pir for now as its jus came in.
they make the rules when they want

The proforma doesnt actually matter, its just an opinion at a point in time, the report!

You could display the same info on a letter headed sheet of paper.

Typical fast reactions ... whoooow hand break turn the NICEIC juggernaut ... hells bells, they only had a years notice of the changes! Not only that but NICEIC via ESC instigated most of them.

If you need forms desperatly they can be downloaded from the iet website. bit of a pain I know and not as good looking as nic ones but will get you out of a hole.

May be you should buy some software and do them on a PC. At least that way you'll comply with the regs and less of your hard earned money will go to the NIC!!

I have highlighted this on a seperate post and apparantly they have extended the use of the PIR until June 2012 but as we all know what they say and what they do not put in writing.

Also just to add I wrote to Kewtech and asked when they were issuing their pads funny enough I am still waiting for a reply mind you i could get paraniod here but I would rather put it down to Pi$$ up in a Brewery mentality

Is they the NICEIC or the IET??

Exactly who decides these days? Now wonder we're all going round in circles.

Makes you wonder if the NIC have extended the instigation of the EICR until June 2012 as they have stock of the old forms.

EICR's for me!!

I have just asked this on the Voltimum forum

My understanding is that the phase in phase out period of PIRs and EICRs was June 11-Jan 12 but I have noted that no one is producing or selling the new EICR pads or test sheets and yes I know you can get an electronic copy but it has been said that the old PIR can be used up to June 12 is this correct and why is the documentation not ready if 1st of January was the actual legal date. No one it would appear wants to commit to comment on this

The NIC are selling the EICR pads on their website.

I recently attended an update date with an independent training provider and their opinion, for domestic situations was that the EICR was mandatory from Jan 1st 2012

Here is the answer from Select on the Voltimum forum

The new Electrical Installation Condition Report was introduced in the latest amendment to BS 7671 in July 2011. Like most amendments there is normally a 6 month lead in period. The new report should be used from 1st January 2012. All trade Associations and consumer protection bodies will now have the report in the new format
